Frequently asked questions.

PHotoshoots & Galleries

Q. What do you recommend for clothing?

A. I always recommend neutrals (grays, tans, blacks, white, etc.). They will help with the contrast of whatever background we have behind you. However, this is your session. So, do what makes you most happy with your clothing. Don't stress yourself too much.

Q. Can my little one bring their favorite toy/teddy?

A. They absolutely can. If it will help them to stay happy during the session then bring it along. I will do my best to get a few without them holding it as well.

Q. Can we bring our dog(s)?

A. Of course you can, they're a part of the family too, right? I just ask that you keep them on a leash during the session to adhere to park or public space rules.

Q. How long until we get our photos back?

A. For mini and full sessions I say about 2 to 4 weeks. For events about 4 to 6 weeks.

Q. Will there be a sneak peek of my photos?

A. For Mini Sessions I do not send out sneak peeks because the gallery is not as large. For Full Sessions you will receive roughly 5 images, and for Events roughly 10 images. You will receive an email from me with the sneak peek and then another email once the gallery is completed.

Q. Will the photos be retouched?

A. I will do mild retouching to any blemishes, drool, bruises or anything else that is not always apart of your face or body, but I do not fix the shape or size of body parts. I also take distractions out of most images. However, I understand that some clients like having the natural images as well. If you see "distractions" in your final gallery images and would like me to remove them, please let me know before downloading any images.

Q. How many images will i get to download?

A. Each package contains different amounts of downloads. Please see the Prices page for how many images would be in the package that you are interested in.

Q. How much will each image cost after I have downloaded the amount in my package?

A. I’m so happy that you want to download more images. That always makes my photographer heart happy. Since so much time goes into editing all of your images, if you would like to download more, each additional image will cost $5.00.

Q. What if my child doesn't cooperate during the session?

A. First off, take a deep breath, and remember that this is supposed to be a fun experience. Some children just don't want to smile for photos no matter how great the photographer is. But, if we can get the focus away from the camera, they often feel more comfortable and tend to let out a real and genuine smile. This is why I lean more towards prompts than poses. I want you all to feel the most comfortable and have a good memory when leaving this session.

Q. What if it is raining on the day of my outdoor session?

A. We have a few options. We can reschedule the session with no additional fees. We can move the session indoors to a studio set-up. We can wait for the rain to calm down and see how wet it is and decide from there. Or, we can embrace the rain and have fun with what photos we get (unless there is thunder and lightning or flooding).

Q. Do you create a blog for every session?

A. I recently started to create a blog for each individual session, as an extra little place to compile photos. These can be shared to social pages and let your friends and family feel like they were a part of your day!

Watercolor Portraits

Q. What size do you recommend for my painting?

A. Every painting is different. Have a reference photo(s) ready for me to take a look at. This will help dictate what size I recommend. Please note that a larger size will mean more details can be in the painting.

Q. Do you have to have a high quality reference photo?

A. While this is not absolutely necessary, it does help me to make sure that the painting matches as close as possible to the reference.

Q. Can I request changes to the final product?

A. Yes, you are welcome to request changes. I will make up to 2 revisions included in the final price, any other revisions will be an upcharge.

Q. When do I get to make my revisions?

A. I will send you a photo after the sketch is complete and then again over half way through the process, then one final photo after I have finished the photo. These are your times to tell me if you are happy with what I have, or if you would like changes to be made. Once I get the final “okay” on your painting, you will not be able to make any other changes.

Q. Will you frame my painting?

A. If you would like a frame, I will do a standard white, gray, brown or black frame.
